In winter, the landscape of Kladské pomezí is not only beautiful but, thanks to its relief, also suitable for cross-country skiing. Rolling hills, gentle slopes, beautiful and far-reaching views of the countryside – these are characteristic features of cross-country skiing tracks in this region. The entire network consists of more than 300 km of maintained trails in the Kladské Pomezí. Additional kilometres of connected trails are groomed in the Góry Stolowe National Park, around the village of Karlów in Poland. More information can be found at ski.kladskepomezi.cz.
You can try ski lifts and well-maintained skiing slopes in Machov, Radvanice (the Studénka village), Petříkovice, Police nad Metují (the Nebíčko ski lift), Malé Svatoňovice (Hákovna) and Běloves u Náchoda (the Brabák and Maliňák ski lifts).
Night skiing is offered at ski resorts in Radvanice and Petříkovice.
You can explore the beauty of Kladské pomezí even in the winter season, depending on the weather and snow cover thickness, which make hiking destinations accessible. Among the rock towns, the Adršpach Rock Town (Adršpašské skály) is open year round (admission charged). In winter, you can admire beauty of the rocks; the sightseeing trail is maintained up to the “Big Waterfall”. Boat trips on the rock lake are not available in the winter season.
Other rock areas (Broumovské stěny and Ostaš) are accessible at your own risk in the winter season since the trails are not maintained!
