Hronov and surroundings
The town of Hronov is traditionally associated with the name of Alois
Jirásek, a writer, who was born here in 1851. It is also the birthplace
of painter and poet Josef Čapek and his sister Helena Čapková, the
writer Egon Hostovský and folk poet Františka Semeráková. In 1930,
Jirásek’s Theatre was built according to the design of Ing. arch.
Jindřich Freiwald, in which an international festival of amateur theatre
called Jirásek’s Hronov takes place every summer.
Surroundings:
the well “Maternice u Zbečníka” –
known from the work of A. Jirásek, with pictures of saints; “Zbečnické
